2025 comes to a close with a full CMFG Team at Heritage Shield
Welp, that’s another year of tournaments done and after a shaky start for the club everything has come together and we’ve just gone from strength to strength. Starting with a promising performance at the Tournament of Deeds at the start of the summer where I won our first medal (silver in the 12 vs 12) and Jack won our first prize (Will-to-win award) for his incredible performance against ISCA 1.

Then, moving through to the Passage of Arms in August where we went 2-2 in groups and Jack won Gold in the longsword duels. We also got our first proper tastes of profights and debuted two new fighters on the team: Fin & Will. We had hoped to debut Sebastien but unfortunately his finger slipped out of his gauntlet in a friendly match at Loxwood and it was broken! He has been out of action healing since then, but Will was able to step in at the last minute to help out. Finally, we ended up placing 6th overall and first of the non-Invicta teams!

And finally to Heritage Shield that took place on the 11th of October where Cambridge was able to field a full team of five men in armour for the first time (with 3 mercenaries from ACG and ISCA to help us along the way) and Adam’s debut. It was a sight to behold!

Now we head towards the end of the year, our committee elections, and the AGM, and the club is in a great place. This coming year we hope to start winning some tournaments and generally performing better overall as we steadily improve and grow as a club and as a team.
Thank you to all the members of all the teams that fought with us this year. It was a pleasure and an honour and I hope we may all do so again one day soon.
